Lars decided at the age of 16 to become a professional surfer in Australia, but somehow got sidetrackes into writing and directing. He studied Film and script-play at the Columbia University in New York, won numerous international prizes (e.g. bronze lion in Cannes) and lives with his wife Lili and his kids Oskar, Mika and Louise in Paris.
