Viviane studied cultural anthropology. During that time she collected her first experiences as an assistant director for feature films and commercials. In 2005 she started directing her own films, with a focus on documentaries and commercials. Her films are internationally renowned and have won several prizes. Her curiosity for the hidden things give her films more than just a highly aesthetic imagery. She always aims to depict the essence of the person or object she is filming. Her movies are layered with humor, authenticity, emotion and density.

She has worked for brands like Swiss RE, Mercedes, P&G, Fleurop, Mediamarkt, SOS Kinderdörfer, Glenfiddich, Lufthansa, Generali and the European Union.
Her documentaries have screened on international festivals and won several prizes.
Her commercials have been awarded in Cannes, at the New York Festival and the Ciclope. In 2018 she became a member of the German Film Academy.

She is based in Berlin.
